In response to growing demand for training and support of SME sector in countries DDTC and Mike Dillon Associates Ltd. agreed to establish business collaboration aimed at development of the joint products for training and certification of SME executives and middle level personnel.

Company Mike Dillon Associates Ltd. has been established since 1993, and specializes in consultancy, training and research associated with cost effective control for the food and other manufacturing industries. The firm operates internationally and has been contracted by governmental and non-governmental bodies to work in North America, Africa, Europe and the UK. The firm is located in Grimsby, "Europe's Food Town", and benefits from a regional network of expertise in food handling and processing.

The collaboration between GOLEM and MDA involves the following:

Linking of the PHAROS and “Produce” software (part of XLL-IT) providing possibility to measure overall performance and guide business improvement.
Developing joint training courses and related training and certification materials for training institutions in countries.

“XLL-IT” software and its supporting educational methodology by MDA, UK are the tools for business improvement. The integrated package would become web-enabled and linked to local and National Centres of Excellence. The tools and draft educational material can be provided to the Centres of Excellence as well. These may involve local educational institute’s, research organisations or selected companies.
The current models and the above approach is being integrated for use both in UK Centres of Manufacturing Excellence and for overseas performance measurement in Canada and some UNIDO target areas e.g. Middle Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America.

The result of collaboration between GOLEM and MDA envisage the complete toolkit & training programs for SME in Performance Evaluation and continuous improvement to be applied to Programmes for SME to improve quality productivity, competitiveness and managerial skills in approaching transition to e-business.
